Inflammation of the plantar fascia, a thick band of tissue that runs across the bottom of your foot and connects your heel bone to your toes.
Common Symptoms
- Stabbing pain in the bottom of your foot near the heel
- Pain that is usually the worst with the first few steps after awakening
- Pain that is triggered by long periods of standing or when you get up from sitting
Potential Causes
- Tension and stress on the plantar fascia
- Being flat-footed or having a high arch
