Hip Bursitis
Inflammation of the bursa (a fluid-filled sac) on the outside of the hip, causing pain over the bony point of the hip.
Common Symptoms
- Sharp, intense pain at the point of the hip
- Dull ache that radiates into the outer thigh area
- Pain that is worse at night or when getting up from a chair
- Pain with prolonged walking, stair climbing, or squatting
Potential Causes
- Repetitive stress or overuse from activities like running or cycling
- Hip injury from a fall
- Incorrect posture
- Bone spurs or calcium deposits
